Introduction

The Need-Release Extended Life Cooling System Filter has been upgraded with a longer service life- from 120,000 miles to 150,000 miles.

Penray Need-Release:

The Penray Need-Release coolant filter has a service interval of 150,000 miles, 15 months, or 3,000 hours, if used with phosphate-free TMC RP-329 or RP-330 specification antifreeze. In order to accomplish this, a fourth pellet has been added to extend the life of the filter. This is an improvement from the previous version of Need-Release, which contained three pellets and lasted 120,000 miles, 12 months, or 2,400 hours. The Need-Release filter is a high-durability system that contains an exclusive, patented, membrane-release technology. As the coolant ages, the Need-Release filter responds to the changes in chemistry in the system automatically.

As the membranes corrode, specially formulated SCA chemistry dissolves in the coolant, restoring the cooling system to an optimum environment that guards against scale, corrosion, and liner pitting. The Need-Release filter is engineered to be used with antifreeze to provide optimum service when used with a non-phosphate, RP-329 or RP-330 specification product. The combination of the Need-Release filter and fully formulated heavy-duty antifreeze is the essence of the Penray Fill-For-Life® coolant program, which eliminates the need to change coolant for the life (to overhaul) of the engine.
