WATERFUEL STORAGEFUEL PUMPS AND INJECTORSFILTERS MODERN DIESEL FUEL

Fuel filters are an important part of the fuel system. When fuel is stored in underground tanks, and as fuel flows throughout the network in your engine it collects debris. A fuel filter is used to eliminate particles and contaminants dangerous to the injection system. Unstable fuel will shorten fuel filter life. Cold temperatures can cause fuel to gel (the wax in the fuel solidifies) plugging the fuel filter. Organic residue and sludge (rust, sand, dirt, etc.) will also clog a filter prior to its scheduled change, resulting in a possible loss of power or even a total, inconvenient shut-down.
